Dulles Town Center - Commercial Marketing Package

If you follow me, you surely know that much of my work revolves around retail marketing, commercial advertisements, and corporate PR. This area of focus can include shopping centers, airports, entertainment, individual businesses, and other retail and concession programs.

In Fall of 2021, I captured a set of images for Dulles Town Center, a local shopping mall to update their marketing package and highlight recent changes to their property and retailers, as well as capture some new perspectives of the mall.

As with any project with such a large scope and physical footprint, this project took weeks of planning, and multiple site visits to capture all the required locations. Between changing seasons and differing lighting requirements, weather and time-of-day becomes an increasingly important factor for exterior hero images and large, naturally lit interior spaces.

Turkish Airlines Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport - 2022

In 2016, Turkish Airlines opened their newest Business Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport; Turkish's first airline lounge in the United States, made available for use by Business & Elite passengers, Gold level Star Alliance members, and later other qualifying partner airline travelers.  I was on hand to document the grand opening events, and my images from the ribbon cutting and lounge interior even were published in USA Today.

Six years later, Turkish Airlines’ US operations management contacted me to capture updated photos of their lounge, as both the interior and their marketing needs have changed since originally opening.  After some extended planning around ongoing renovations, passenger loading, and other desirable conditions, I captured an updated marketing package of the lounge’s interior spaces, displaying occupancy usage for certain areas per client request (oftentimes when showcasing the interior design of a space, typically no occupancy is desired, however in this case the project need preferred it).

The Turkish Airlines Lounge features a full service bar serving wine, cocktails, and coffee, an open buffet, showers, prayer room, business amenities, and a private VIP room.  The seating area offers options ranging from quiet workspaces, relaxing lounge chairs, and panoramic views of Dulles’ airfield.

TAV Operation Services - New Office Space

The best time to photograph your office space is right after its completed construction or renovation; the second best time to photograph it is the moment you think you might want documentation of your working space. For TAV Operation Services, moving their location to a larger suite was the perfect opportunity to capture their new HQ in Tyson’s Corner. Highlights important to capture for office space photography include private offices, conference rooms, reception, kitchen & recreation, shared working spaces, common areas, and branded signage.

Sandstone Care: Chantilly, VA Detox Center

Starting off 2023, Sandstone Care opened its latest treatment center in Virginia, the Virginia Detox Center in Chantilly.

The Virginia Detox Center is a medical detox and inpatient treatment facility serving Fairfax and Loudoun Counties, providing care for young adults and adults to overcome substance use, addiction, and co-occurring mental health conditions.  Patients are provided 24/7 medical supervision, daily residential programming and therapy sessions, and forming a pathway to discharge from intake.  The center also provides support for those in transitional living communities, Partial Hospitalization, and Intensive Outpatient Programs.

I captured marketing and promotional images of the new facility for Sandstone Care, which has been widely utilized on their website, social media, and facility directory listings.

Kaiser Permanente’s Caton Hill Medical Center: September, 2022

On September 19th, 2022, the Kaiser Permanente Caton Hill Medical Center opened, replacing the Woodbridge Medical Center with a new 245,000-square foot medical center in Prince William County.  Four days before the first day of service, Kaiser Permanente held a ribbon cutting ceremony with addresses from Kaiser Permanente directors and Prince William County leadership.

The new Kaiser Permanente hub includes 24/7 advanced urgent care, an outpatient surgical facility, a full featured radioimagery center, and 30 specialties including family medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, neurology, oncology, behavioral health, cardiology, pain management, ophthalmology, and optometry.  The complex is LEED Silver certified, and is expected to serve ~40,000 patients and ~320,000 visits each year.

I’m sharing some highlights from covering the event and new facility here.

After the ribbon cutting events, groups of guests were taken on guided tours and allowed the opportunity to explore the new medical campus.
